Student Travel Grants for GenoPri 2014

A limited number of student grants are available to enable full-time students to attend the PETS Workshop on Genome Privacy (GenoPri) on July 15, 2014 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The grants are provided by the Center on Risk Analysis and Governance (CRAG) at EPFL.

The student grant provides funds to cover the GenoPri Workshop registration fee and assist with travel and accommodation expenses. The total grant will be up to $1000 per student who would otherwise be unable to attend the workshop.

The grants are not only intended for authors of accepted papers (however, the preference will be given to students who submit papers to the GenoPri Workshop) and may not be applied to PETS registration fees. Nominations of women and students from under-represented minorities are particularly encouraged.

Nominated students selected for the awards will be notified by e-mail and will be expected to register and book air travel and hotel accommodations immediately upon notification.

How to Apply:

To apply for the grant, students should provide:

  1. An up-to-date resume
  2. A letter of support from the student’s research advisor confirming that the student is in good standing. The advisor should include a justification of financial need.
  3. A short personal statement of research from the student explaining the reason for attending the GenoPri Workshop.

Above documents should be emailed as a PDF to the selection committee chair Erman Ayday (erman.ayday@epfl.ch) by the application deadline.
